18-20 April 2012 in Moscow Region the RIF+CIB annual conference took place – the main event about Internet Industry in Russia. More than 5 thousand participants took part in the forum. Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia, welcomed the attendees of the event.
At the first day of the conference a session on domain name industry trends was held. Among other topics during the session perspectives of new Russian top-level domains implementation within the ICANN New gTLD Program were discussed.
March 11-16, San José (Costa Rica) hosted the 43rd International ICANN Public Meeting. More than 1000 specialists from various companies and organisations, whose activity is associated with the Internet infrastructure, took part in the event.

February 29 to March 1, Moscow hosted the XII Inter-industry Forum on Intellectual Property. It is the only independent event on this issue in Moscow, a unique and time-tested platform for professionals. It was the first time when all intellectual property issues were discussed together at the same time – individualization (trademarks as well), copyrights, invention right, etc. Infor-media organized the event.
March 6-10, 2012 an annual СeBIT exhibition will be held in Hanover. CeBIT is the biggest international event about high technologies. The exhibition focuses on the broad range of visitors - all who are interested in or associated with the development of information, telecommunication and computer technologies. Traditionally, CeBIT plays an important role as an area for business meetings, searching for investors, signing contracts.
Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development (FAITID) has concluded partnership agreement with Sedari, one of the leading international consulting companies specializing in the implementation of top-level domains.
According to the agreement Sedari will provide the application process for .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА with an expert support.
13 January 2012 in Moscow Strategies of Domain Name Spaces Management Press-Conference was held. The event was organized by the Coordination Center for TLD RU.
One of the main topics of the press-conference was ICANN New gTLD program officially started 12 January 2012.
Applicants from Russia plan to participate in New gTLD. At the moment .ДЕТИ (Cyrillic translation for .CHILDREN) and .MOSCOW/.МОСКВА (.MOSKVA) top-level domains are planned to be implemented.
